Isolation
Where can I stay for home isolation?
Individuals are permitted to select their own location to self isolate. Everyone required to isolate must provide an address where they intend to remain for the duration of their required isolation in Jordan. During this time, you are not permitted to leave your accommodation. All meals and necessities must be delivered to you.

Will the government arrange transport to my isolation location?

No, individuals are required to arrange their own transport. Transport should be directly to the registered isolation address.

How do you get food when you are self isolating?
All food must be delivered to you address. Most restaurants in Amman offer home delivery services. Both Carrefour and Safeway provide home delivery of groceries.

What to expect in Jordan
Are all the tourist sites open?
All government operated sites around the country are open. Most privately owned accommodation and tourist services have also reopened. Visitors can expect a different experience without crowds at major sites in Petra, Jerash and Wadi Rum.

Are buses operating around the country?
Yes, all public transport is operational. However, as always, Jordan’s intercity public transport network is limited and many services operate once full, rather than on set time schedule. Therefore, limited departures are available. In most cases, visitors find it more convenient and economical to rent a car for the duration of their stay outside Amman.

Is the atmosphere in Jordan back to normal?
The government is advocating the use of mask in crowded spaces, as well as social distancing. A midnight curfew is in place for business. Cinemas, theaters and other entertainment venues remain closed. Otherwise Jordan is steadily returning towards normality.

Is there a risk that Jordan will go into lockdown or close the airport again?
The government has announced that an effort to eliminate the virus would cause greater negative impacts than the strategy of containing the virus. As such, measures to control transmission will be taken. They have subsequently announced that they will not return to lockdown or completely closed borders.

Are masks mandatory in Jordan?
Masks are mandatory during your flight and inside the airport terminal. Throughout Jordan masks should be used in indoor spaces and are recommended for use whenever social distancing is not possible.
